Stage

Select your stage first:

This rear-facing only car seat, designed for newborns up to, on average, 6-15 months, is easily removable while the baby stays strapped in. It clicks into a car seat base or can be installed baseless and seamlessly snaps into stroller travel systems. Portable and lightweight, it prioritizes convenience for parents and safety for newborns.
This is the longest car seat stage and it is designed to stay installed inside the vehicle. Your child will ride both rear and forward-facing in this seat. While some models are suitable from birth, this stage is often used after the infant car seat. Typically utilized from around 6 to 12 months, until the child reaches the average age of 6 years.
This car seat stage is used for children who are riding forward-facing, typically aged 4 to 8. It is first used as a harnessed seat and then transitions to a highback booster and sometimes a no back booster. We recommend a child ride in the forward-facing harness until they reach one of the limits of that stage before transitioning to the high back booster mode.
This stage uses the vehicle seat belt to secure the child. It is designed to support younger riders and properly position the vehicle seat belt to fit the child's body, typically aged 5-10.
This stage uses the vehicle seat belt to secure the child. It is designed to boost older and more mature children to properly position the vehicle seat belt to fit the child's body. Many children need to use a booster seat until, on average, 10-12 years old before the vehicle seat belt alone will fit them correctly.

SITS TIP! While all car seats state a weight limit range, it doesn't always mean the car seat will fit your small baby safely. Not to worry—we know which ones will! This is why we typically recommend starting with an infant seat.

Added Safety Features

Are added safety features important to you? Choose which you would like your seat to include.

Just chiming in here for a quick SITS safety message!

Your child (and you!) are likely pros at how to ride safely in a booster seat by now! As a reminder, the vehicle seat belt has to be positioned properly to best protect your big kid in a crash.

To ensure your kiddo is riding as safely as possible in their no-back booster:

✔️Ensure child’s booster is placed in a vehicle seating position where there is a headrest.

✔️Child must sit upright with their bum all the way back.

✔️Ensure the shoulder belt lies diagonally across the child's chest.

✔️Make sure the lap belt is flat and snug across their thighs.

✔️Double-check that the seat belt is routed properly (most commonly under the armrest).

✔️Child’s ears must be below the top of vehicle headrest.

✔️When the booster isn't in use, secure it to avoid it becoming a projectile, or use the lower anchor connectors if it has them.

You’re in the big kid stage of car seat safety now. Your child’s body was always in the proper position in a harness seat because they didn’t have a choice! In booster mode, it’s your child’s responsibility to keep their body in the proper position! It’s a big deal, and why we recommend maxing out the harness seat before moving to this stage. While you’re shopping this stage to keep your forward-facing kiddo in a harness, these seats transition to booster mode as well. Your child’s body will always be in the proper position in a harness seat because they don’t have a choice! In booster mode, it’s your child’s responsibility to keep their body in the proper position! It’s a big deal, and why we recommend maxing out the harness seat before graduating your child from the harness to booster mode.

When your child meets ALL of these criteria, you can make the transition to high back booster:

✔️Reached the height and/or weight limits of their current seat AND

✔️Mature enough to sit properly the entire ride, AND

✔️At least 5 years old, AND

✔️Meets the height, weight, and/or age requirements of the booster, AND

✔️Has proper seat belt fit (fit varies by car), AND

✔️Has practiced riding properly on short rides for a period of time
