European Baseless Routing
This seat can be installed baseless with European or American/Standard belt routing. You can find a video showing both of those methods here. The European routing method is preferred! European belt routing means the shoulder belt portion of the seat belt is routed behind the shell of the rear-facing seat, limiting its ability to rotate down in a frontal crash. This routing functions similarly to a load leg. Pretty cool, huh?!

As we have mentioned, this infant seat is one of very few that has lower anchors attached to the carrier portion of the seat. This makes it a particularly good option if you are traveling internationally to a country that has lower anchors in the vehicles, so you could skip bringing along the locking clip to do a seat belt installation.
Use caution if
You would prefer a lightweight infant seat.
While the Clek Liingo is not the heaviest seat on the market, at almost 12 pounds, it’s still on the heavy side. If you remove the inserts and the lower anchor storage bin, it gets closer to 9 pounds.

For international travel, you may be able to do a lower anchor installation if the vehicles are equipped with lower anchor points.
