Stand Out Features of this Car Seat

Rear-facing Tether
The Uppababy Rove is one of the few rear-facing car seats in the US to use the top tether. When a top tether is used in rear-facing mode, it acts the same way a load leg does in a crash and reduces the crash forces that the child experiences.
Seat is good for you if
You need a compact seat.
When you install the Uppababy Rove as upright as possible, it takes up very little room in rear-facing mode.
You want a car seat that’s easy to install.
Thanks to the seat belt lock-off, this seat is easy and quick to install with Uppababy's thoughtful zipper design! You simply unzip the cover to access the belt path of your choice, open the lock-off, thread the vehicle belt or lower anchors, tighten them, close the lock-off, and zip it back up!
You want a seat with flame-retardant-free fabric.
All of the fabric options are free of chemical flame retardants and they are Greenguard Gold Certified as well.
Your child is at least 14 pounds already!
The Uppababy Rove is not meant to be used from birth. It does have a 14 pound minimum, so pay attention to that!
Use caution if
You need to fit three across.
The Uppababy Rove is 19" wide, so unless you have a vehicle with a wide back seat like a full-size truck, you will not be fitting this in a 3-across situation.
You want to use a convertible car seat from birth.
The Uppababy Rove is not meant to be used from birth. It has a 14-pound minimum, which is typically the size of a 3-4-month-old baby.
Quirks to be aware of
Hard to tighten harness
When used in the lower headrest settings, it is difficult to tighten the no-rethread harness. As the child grows taller and you move up the headrest, it becomes less difficult.
Child Fit Information
We were able to try a 6-month-old in this seat. She is 16 pounds and 25 inches tall. She fit very well.

SITS Bottom Line
The Uppababy Rove is a rear and forward-facing car seat that offers unique safety and convenience features for caregivers. One standout feature is its use of the top tether in rear-facing mode, which functions similarly to a load leg, reducing crash forces and enhancing child safety. The seat also includes a built-in seat belt lock-off, making installation quick and hassle-free. Designed to save space, the Rove is compact when installed in its most upright position, making it a good choice for vehicles with limited legroom. However, it’s important to note that this seat is not intended for newborns, as it has a 14-pound minimum weight requirement.
