KidsEmbrace has all kinds of characters on their car seats. This review is going to focus on their backless booster seats. It's a narrow option, so it would work well in most vehicles, even for families who need to fit three across in the back seat.

The Safety 1st Comfort Ride is one of the most inexpensive seats that has a no-rethread harness! It can harness average-sized children until around five years of age, and it also has high back and backless booster modes. It’s also very lightweight, so it could be a good option for parents who travel frequently. We did have some issues with the child fit in the backless booster mode; see below.

The Clek Foonf, introduced in 2012, has become a trusted choice for parents in the US and Canada. It’s one of the narrowest car seats on the market today, and it stands out as one of the only harnessed seats in both countries that features rigid lower anchors for forward-facing installation. This unique characteristic is an energy management feature that reduces the crash forces that go to the child. It also boasts advanced safety features for rear-facing mode, such as an anti-rebound bar that minimizes seat movement during crashes. With its longevity in the market and commitment to safety, the Clek Foonf continues to be a go-to car seat for parents seeking reliability, versatility, and the capability to accommodate multiple car seats side by side.

The Britax Marathon was recently discontinued as Britax slims down their product offerings. But it is still in stock at this time, and it's a seat that has a lot of great features! We especially love the simple seat belt installation, the tall harness height, and how compact front to back this seat is.

The Graco Extend2Fit was one of the first convertible car seats with a 50-pound rear-facing limit, and it’s still a well-loved car seat today! The original Graco Extend2Fit is a relatively cheap convertible car seat for parents who want to rear-face higher-percentile children as long as possible. It’s also one of the best convertible car seats for small cars, making it a great option for tall front-seat passengers, compact vehicles, or any situation with limited front-to-back space!

This is one of the newest narrow seats on the market at 17″ wide. It’s touted as an all-in-one seat, but with the backless booster limit currently at 52,” you will need another backless booster once this seat is outgrown. But since backless boosters are inexpensive, this won’t be a dealbreaker for most people. This seat will still last many kids until 7 or 8 years old.

In the past, we have made it known that the 4Ever seats are not SITS favorites due to the bulky backless booster mode. But now, with their 4Ever DLX Grad, Graco has added a 5th mode, with a seat belt trainer that’s very similar to the Graco Right Guide. This is a very low-profile backless booster that we really like. This version also features SnugLock, which makes the installation in the rear and forward-facing harness modes very simple.
