Find the best car seat – fast!

SITS TIP: All car seats must be locked in place. Some car seats have a built-in lock-off feature that locks the seat belt for you. Some have this feature in rear and forward-facing mode, and some in just forward-facing mode. Be sure to read the details on each seat. Heads up! When traveling internationally, most vehicles do not have a locking mechanism on their seat belts like we do in the US and Canada. You will need a car seat with a built-in lock-off or will need to use a locking clip.

SITS TIP: Grandparents and caregivers this may be you! Different size kiddos using the same car seat means child fit adjustments need to be made! A no-rethread harness allows you to adjust the shoulder strap height by moving the headrest up and down versus a rethread harness that requires manually routing the shoulder straps.

SITS TIP: Most, but not all, car seats have FAA approval! To see if your car seat has FAA approval, locate the usually white label on your seat that reads: “This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft travel.” You can also find this information in the manual!
